Bring the 19th Century to life with this indoor-outdoor double-sided clock. It's absolutely rustic, antiqued appearance gives an incredible authenticity to what is in reality a modern appliance, durable, waterproof and exceptionally reliable. It can be mounted on a wall, as is, or hung from those gorgeous wrought iron braces shown in this display. Those brackets and the swinging nature of its swiveling posture gives the entire piece a sort of timeless, small-town look.
With “Victoria” lettered across the face of the clock, we sense the period at the bare beginnings of modern technology and the mind is given some free rein to explore history and a great sense of place. Being two-sided makes it the complete model of 19th Century pride and efficiency. The clock is a good sized 12″ x 12.5″ x 3″ wide, offering a substantial although non-intrusive element of charm and periodicity.

When choosing furniture for your babies, toddlers, and kids, you have several things to keep in mind. How safe is this product? Does it meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC ) safety guidelines? That may not be enough. The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) sets a higher safety standard for certification than the CPSC does. The JPMA certified product index gives you a constantly updated list of manufacturers of JPMA-certified baby cribs.
But is that enough? While JPMA may certify that there is no lead in the furniture paint, there may be other toxic substances that JPMA doesn't check for, and aren't regulated in the industry. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde are found in many conventional paints, paint strippers, varnishes, furniture oils, caulking, glues, adhesives, and wood preservatives. You need to check what emissions are wafting out of the furniture with the cute decorations. There is nothing cute about sick babies.
The other thing you need to consider is how easy it will be to clean the furniture. Juveniles aren't sterile beings; you will be doing lots of wiping, moping, and disinfecting. Take that into account when you choose furniture. Is it easy to clean underneath? Does it have molding and decorative grooves that will be difficult to scrub? Where might the germs and dust hide from you? Choosing kid's furniture is all about foresight and prevention.

When you combine solid wood, graceful classic lines and a cherry finish, you get that distinguished look that is good enough for royalty. This night stand isn't an original Louis Phillipe, but it provides a good example of how period furniture, or furniture inspired by them can create the right atmosphere in a bedroom.

Bedrooms are made for relaxation, so the calming effect of this furniture style can be just perfect. It may not be the focus of the room, but it does accent it. Make sure you balance it out with the right fabrics and textures in the room, to avoid a room that is as well formal (unless of course it's what your aiming for with your design).
This is the sort of furniture that stands the test of time, both in terms of style and functionality. Quality storage, including a felt lined jewelry drawer, and personal space for you to locate your belongings as you go to sleep.

This end table features such a typical Hokkaido look, you may be familiar with it from computer games even! Every home design computer game that offers “Asian” as a decor style, usually has these small tables with light coming out of the paper shade. You just can't get more Japanese than this.

The beauty of this piece is that it also conveys a sense of simplicity, that makes it easier to incorporate as an Asian touch in nearly any style of decor, particularly more formal styles. A selection of four colors (black, natural pine, honey oak or the cherry rosewood shown over here) making it even more compatible with nearly any bedroom. The diffused light adds warmth and softens the formality of the squared lattice.

You'll feel like a Raja in this meditation chair. This one also provides the perfect place to practice the art of baby massage, on or between your outstretched legs. Several other uses for this comfortable extended throne come to mind, but you'll have to use your own imagination. If you have a baby, you must have figured it out at some point (wink).
Responsible use of forest products and finishes for woods is advocated by “Harmony In Design” . Towards this goal, they have created an entirely new line of meditation products made out of Mango wood and other sustainable resources. After 20 years the mango tree stops bearing fruit, and can then be harvested for timber. Since mango trees can be plantation grown, they prevent the clear cut practice that is damaging rain forests. Multiple uses of the Mango tree, make it a win win crop, providing the delicious and nutritious mango fruit that so many enjoy.
Look at the beautiful rose carved into the wood. The Raja boasts elegant craftsmanship from every angle, and yet has a tastefully rustic quality that makes it easy to incorporate into your room decor.

Some furniture have a definite contemporary look and when it comes to a Plasma TV stand, a contemporary look is nearly required. After all, harmony in form and function is always pleasing, and when the function involves a high-tech Twenty-First Century object, what else would you expect but a sleek design like this:

How you work this into your living room, or perhaps bedroom, design is a dissimilar question. Fortunately, the design over here uses light colors, so it should be easy enough to have it blend into an airy well-spaced contemporary room, allowing whatever is displayed on the screen to draw the eye to it.
It's not as well huge, and if your TV is larger than a 42″ screen, then keep looking. If the size is right though, then this can be a great option, allowing for comfortable storage of your media, as well as appliances.

This is a lovely piece. The hue of the wood is classically elegant without being pretentious. Its airy design leaves the room feeling more spacious and uncluttered.
It fits well in hall ways and small spaces where a bigger table would protrude so as to disturb the flow of Chi (Feng Shui) or cause you to bang your legs (Shin OW!)
This is also a good piece for keeping the peace, as couples are more likely to agree on it when choosing furniture. This table is aesthetically pleasing to all, and is therefore a great gift idea.
Tie together design elements by including several of these tables on a split level or in an over-sized room. Create design symmetry by putting them on both sides of a feature such as a big ceiling to floor window, french doors, or raised bed.

A kitchen where delicious food is created, is a kitchen where the cook feels good about life. What things make you feel good about life? Bring those elements into your kitchen decor.
If romance inspires you to create gorgeous meals, then hang photos of your loved one on the kitchen wall, and train garlands of edible flowers to creep from your windowsill planter box, in through the window, and around it. Place candles around the kitchen, and use romantic lighting when you cook. Your cooking then becomes an offering of devotion, seduction, and admiration.
If your cooking is your connection to your heritage or your ancestors, decorate your kitchen with your ethnic art. Frame one of your favorite ancestral photos, and hang it on the wall.
You can also place old hand written recipes in layers to cover the kitchen table, and then cover that with a sheet of clear glass. This makes a rustically lovely decor focal point, or a classically elegant one if you write the recipes in calligraphy. Your guests will ooh and?ahh over this creative design.
If you want to cook healthful meals, hang a picture of yourself doing a realistic activity that can only be done with a strong healthy body (relative to your own circumstances), and a focused mind. If you have a family, hang photos of them showing off their health and strength as well. For instance, a photo of your child proudly displaying a school assignment that earned a high grade, or flexing her/his biceps and smiling with white teeth, shows the rewards for eating healthful foods. Hang colorful charts depicting the ratio of proteins to carbohydrates that you need, and hang pretty pictures of beautiful organic fruits and vegetables. These will give you an appetite for what is good for you, instead of tempting you to eat junk food. Natural produce comes in all colors (even blue - for blueberries), so you can make a gorgeous rainbow on your wall.
